Our Short Story

Rhiana Glor's journey into the world of restaurant ownership began as many great endeavors do—with necessity and a vision. In 2006, as a newly minted San Diegan, she fell in love with the coastal charm of Encinitas. However, she quickly noticed a significant gap in the local dining scene; organic and gluten-free options were hard to come by. This scarcity, combined with her struggles with celiac disease and gluten intolerance, inspired Rhiana to create the kind of health-conscious food she had grown to love in her hometown of Santa Cruz. Encouraged by her mother and driven by her passion for food, Rhiana opened Healthy Creations Cafe.

At Healthy Creations Cafe, Rhiana and her team worked tirelessly to craft a menu that celebrated both flavor and health. Their goal was simple yet profound: to create a safe, welcoming space where people could enjoy delicious, gluten-free meals without worry. The café quickly became a sanctuary for gluten-free diners, offering plant-based bowls, sustainable meat options, and a variety of dishes that catered to those with dietary restrictions.

But Rhiana's vision didn't stop there. In 2018, she expanded her offerings by opening Nectarine Grove in Leucadia, followed by another branch in Del Mar. This popular daytime spot blossomed into a beloved destination, known for its commitment to serving wholesome, gluten-free options in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Through her dedication and culinary creativity, Rhiana transformed Healthy Creations Cafe and Nectarine Grove into more than just restaurants—they became havens where guests could savor every bite with confidence. Her efforts have resonated deeply with the community, making these establishments beloved spots for all diners, regardless of dietary preferences. Today, it's hard to imagine Encinitas without these vibrant, health-focused eateries, where Rhiana's passion for great food and genuine hospitality continues to shine.
